As it turns out, Mei happens to be Yuzu’s new step-sister, and Yuzu finds herself having to share a bedroom with a girl she absolutely can’t stand yet can’t get out of her head. The series follows the evolution of the relationship between the two girls, with animosity slowly lessening as they learn more about each other. Confusion grows as Yuzu discovers that she is starting to develop romantic feelings for her new sibling.

The anime adaptation premiered on AT-X on January 6, 2018. Directed by Takeo Takahashi and animated by Passione, it features an opening theme titled “Azalea” by Nano Ripe and an ending theme called “Dear Teardrop” by Mia Regina. Crunchyroll streamed the series, while Funimation provided the simuldub .

In addition to the anime, there is also a manga version of Citrus. The manga has 20 chapters as of May 2016 and was licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The series concluded with 41 chapters on August 18th, 2018. A spin-off manga titled Citrus Plus began serialization in December 2018.
