Dr. Stone is a popular anime series based on the manga of the same name by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi. The story follows Senku Ishigami, a teenage genius who wakes up in a world where all humans have been turned into stone by a mysterious phenomenon. He decides to use his scientific knowledge to rebuild civilization and find out the cause of the petrification.
The anime has two seasons so far, with a third one announced for 2022. The first season covers the Stone World arc, where Senku meets Taiju Oki, his childhood friend, and Yuzuriha Ogawa, Taiju’s crush. They form the Kingdom of Science and face off against Tsukasa Shishio, a powerful martial artist who wants to create a new world order with only young and strong people. The second season adapts the Stone Wars arc, where Senku and his allies fight against Tsukasa’s Empire of Might in a battle of brains and brawn. The third season will likely cover the Age of Exploration arc, where Senku and his friends travel across the world in search of new resources and clues about the origin of the petrification.
